Layer Cake Furniture Renovations

Hi there, my name is Lynsey Lou and I run Layer Cake Furniture Renovations from my village home in Yorkshire, where I live with my lovely family; my husband Ed, our two amazing children, our cat, Molly, and our ever growing goldfish, Skittles and Charcoal.

I’ve always had an interest in beautiful furniture and the arts and crafts, so I decided to combine the two, and in September 2019, after 17 years working for the NHS, I took the plunge and I'm now following my dreams. I not only buy and sell furniture, which I lovingly restore using beautiful good quality, child friendly, odourless furniture paint, materials and fixings, but I also update pieces the customer already has. I work very closely with my customers, to achieve fabulous end results and a piece that is now a stunning part of their home, not forgetting there will never be another piece like it...all the pieces I do are bespoke!

I’ve seen too many beautiful pieces sadly discarded of, when it can be beautifully renovated to suit any home.

So please, don’t throw away good, but tired furniture, bring it back to life with beautiful bold or subtle paint colours and materials.

I don’t have an elaborate marketing campaign ready to dazzle you for one reason and one reason only – I prefer to let my superlative work speak for me. Many of my customers have been lovely enough to speak about the top-notch services I provide, and that kind of credibility can’t be bought, it has to be earned. By keeping an effective channel of communication open between my professionals and my customers, I am quick to improve in the areas where I need to and to continue to raise the bar in the areas I already excel in.
